MultiOne Mini Loader Terminology Buyers Guide
MultiOne Mini Loader Terminology Explained
MultiOne Model Numbers
The entire MultiOne loader model range is categorised into 7 classes and numbered from 1 to 11. The model numbers have no real direct coloration to the power or capacity of the loader but rather just a way to identify different loaders. The letters at the end of some
model specify the brand of engine used and the transmission type. For instance the letter “S” means 2 speed transmission and letter K refers to a Kubota engine. Newer models have a “id” code for the new Kohler engines currently being introduced into the model range.
H Boom
The main lifting arm or boom used in all MultiOne loader models is constructed of 2 main arms with a cross brace between to form the shape of a H. The H pattern forms a light yet very strong structure that does not twist under heavy loading and gives the loader increased lifting capacity.
Telescopic boom
The main lifting arm of the loader comprises of an fixed outer boom and a sliding inner boom that is extended and retracted with the use of a hydraulic ram. This functionality gives the loader extra lifting height and extra reach when needed while maintaining its compact size.
DBS
Each wheel on the loader has its own hydraulic drive motor and will naturally act like a differential, each wheel speeding up and slowing down as required. On uneven ground wheels on opposite corners can slip and spin, taking drive away from the other wheels.
When activated, the DBS valve evens out the oil flow between the wheel motors thus reducing wheel spin and putting drive to the wheels that need it. The loader can still turn without ripping up the ground with the DBS function on.
Torque Divider – Traction Lock
The “Trac lock” or Torque Divider function divides the oil flow equally between the right and left front wheel motors, ensuring both front wheels get a similar oil flow. It is an emergency function to get out of tough situations and also a way to ensure maximum traction while using a bucket on slippery surfaces. A Torque Divider is installed as a standard feature on the 8 series and up loaders and can be installed as an option on other models.
High Flow
MultiOne loaders have 2 auxiliary hydraulic pumps which allows for greater control over hydraulic attachments. Low flow utilities just 1 of the pumps for attachments like buckets and grabs where slower movements are necessary. High flow combines the 2 pumps together and high flow can be used for mowers, auger drives and trenchers where a high constant flow is required.
OneDrive
OneDrive is a brand new transmission design that replaces multiple hydraulic components and hoses in the drive system with a single valve block directly coupled to the HST pump. Its design dramatically reduces the system back pressure in favour of torque output on the wheels and the machines capability to reach higher top speed.
HST Transmission
The driving system used in the MultiOne loaders uses high pressure oil flow from a pump connected to the engine to drive the 4 hydraulic wheel motors. There are no chains or drive shafts used in the transmission system. 2 foot pedals are used to control and speed and travel direction of the loader.
2 Speed
MultiOne loaders with 2 speed have variable displacement wheel motors that allows the operator to swap between low and high speed via a switch. In Low Speed, the loader has much more driving power for pushing and climbing. In high speed the loader has greater ground speed for travelling on flat ground but pushing force is greatly reduced.
ACI
MultiOne Attachment Control Interface (A.C.I) is a method of controlling multi-functional attachment via the main control joystick. ACI compatible attachments plug into the loader using a standard 7 pin trailer plug and the attachments are controlled by 6 pushbuttons on the main control joystick.
Multi-x Connector
All multiOne loaders use a Multi-x coupling system to connect attachment hydraulic hoses to the loader. A Multi-x places all hydraulic lines into a single block system and connecting and disconnecting hydraulic lines is quick, easy and leak free. The Multi-x attachment system can also overcome a small amount of pressure built up in the hydraulic lines.
4in1 Bucket
A 4in1 bucket is clam shell style bucket that open and closes using hydraulic rams. The name refers to the fact that the bucket can be used to perform 4 functions in 1 bucket. The 4 main functions of a 4in1 bucket are;
We supply Australian made Digga 4in1 buckets that have been specialty designed and built for each and every MultiOne model to ensure the best performance possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
MultiOne are an Italian company that specialise in the manufacture of class leading mini wheel loaders. Customised hydraulic systems are combined with modern diesel engines to offer a smooth yet powerful operator experience. All loaders are backed by a factory 3yr/1000hr warranty and national dealer network.
Due to the vast amount of applications for a MultiOne loaders we import all machines into Australia without a bucket. This allows our customers to choose the attachments they require from the huge range of factory attachments and quality locally manufactured attachments we provide.
All Multione loaders are backed by a factory 3yr/1000hr warranty with local spare parts backup. Our huge inventory of spare parts means you get the part you need immediately and nationwide service agents are available to servicing and warranty repairs.
We offer Australia wide delivery through our dealer network .
MultiOne loaders have a service reminder built into the LCD display. Servicing is simple and does not require specialised tools or computers. Yuchai Australia have full workshop facilities and a National dealer network to service your MultiOne Loader or, if more convenient, can be self maintained or maintained by third party mechanic and warranty
remains intact.
Your first point of call is always contact the Yuchai Service Team or your local dealer. If you have any sort of issue with your mini loader we have service agents all over Australia we engage to get you running again as soon as possible.
The mini loader operators and maintenance manual has a comprehensive servicing schedule which you need to follow to maintain your warranty and keep you mini loader performing at its best. Regular greasing of the pins and bushes is a must and we highly recommend a battery powered grease gun.
We import all our MultiOne loaders without any attachments or buckets and allow our customers to choose the attachments they need. We stock a huge range of factory specialty attachments as well as the full range of Digga buckets and attachments that are made specifically for Multione.
Engine horsepower should not be your first consideration when choosing a loader. All MultiOne models will do the same job, larger machines offer greater lifting capacities and will handle larger sized attachments but are heavier to transport and may not fit into your workspace. Detailed specification are available for download for each loader and contact
your local dealer for the best advise.
You can use just about any trailer to transport your mini loader, just remember you will need ramps to load it into the trailer and tie down points to secure your machine in the trailer.
Specialised loader trailers offer the benefit of built in loading ramps, bucket placeholders, attachment holders and correctly positioned tie points to make securing the loader quickly and easily. We offer a full range of plant trailers and tow away package deals on all MultiOne mini loaders.
MultiOne use a quick release hitch system with a top lug mount and spring loaded pin to secure the bottom of the attachment. Removing an attachment simply requires the operator to pull up and secure the locking pins and tilting the coupling plate forward to release the attachment.
A new attachment can be hooked on the top lugs and tilted backwards until the pins drop into place locking on the attachment. Hydraulic connections are simple and easy to connect and disconnect using the Multi-x System.
The MultiOne hitch is unique to the loaders so other attachments don’t fit directly to the loader. We can enable the mounting of mini loader and skid steer attachments via a hitch adaptor, this allows you to hire attachments or continue to easy swap the attachment between different machines. We also have weld-on mounting plates to permanently change your attachment to suit a MultiOne loader.
From January 2012, new national work health and safety legislation dictated that one does not need to obtain licenses to operate equipment that falls into the earthmoving or particular crane (EPC) machine classes.
You are however responsible for operating a mini loader in a safe and competent manor and new or inexperienced operators should undertake formal training from an RTO before operating heavy machinery.
In Queensland, it is illegal to drive a non-standard vehicle on the road without conditional registration. You may be fined if you don’t have registration and if the vehicle is involved in a crash, you may not be covered by insurance. Check your local transport authority for more information about obtaining conditional registration for your mini loader.
